Dwarf Lilies

I noticed these dwarf lilies (as Mrs. Fetched found they’re called) springing up where the tiger lilies usually prowl. She said, “they just came up on their own, I don’t know how they got there.” In other words, another pretty nuisance plant.

Click the picture to get a closeup. The blooms remind me of the wild violets that came and went earlier in the year (but are still growing all over the place).

Hi FARfetched.

I've got more nuisance plants than I want. Unfortunately, it's plants my s-i-l planted and FMom wants to keep.

Those look like siberian irises. They shouldn't become too much of a nuisance---ours don't really seem to spread much.

Hey guys....

FM, if your s-i-l planted them, what's the problem? She planted 'em, she weeds 'em, right?

RM, "pretty nuisance" is my generic term for stuff that looks pretty, but wasn't intended and/or we can't get rid of. I forgot to link in an earlier post about the March weed blossoms.

i also think they are irises. once the flowers die, prune them off and the green foliage stays like that for the season.

Comments are welcome, and they don't have to be complimentary. I delete spam on sight, but that's pretty much it for moderation. Long off-topic rants or unconstructive flamage are also candidates for deletion but I haven’t seen any of that so far.

I have comment moderation on for posts over a week old, but that’s so I’ll see them.
