I'm not sure what kind of bird that is; it might be what my father-in-law calls a “jenny wren.”

When/if the egg hatches, I’ll post more pictures.

Comments are welcome, and they don't have to be complimentary. I delete spam on sight, but that's pretty much it for moderation. Long off-topic rants or unconstructive flamage are also candidates for deletion but I haven’t seen any of that so far.
I have comment moderation on for posts over a week old, but that’s so I’ll see them.

Wow FF! That nest is almost artistic in it's total disarray. I love your garden pics too. My gardens are currently in full color bloom, but their days are numbered as the heat index rises. Thanks for sharing! : )
ReplyDeleteThe nest gets better: I'm pretty sure the inside is lined with plastic. You might be able to see it in the second picture (with the egg).
ReplyDeleteHere's a link to a house (jenny) wren... I’m pretty sure that’s what it is. The eyebrows on our jenny are more pronounced than the one in the picture, but it might just be the angle.
I think the previous owners had set up different plants to bloom at different times of the year. Our butterfly bushes haven't started yet; they'll probably be attracting all sorts of bugs (aka Wren Chow) when they bloom out.
looks like someone needs to work on the garage. Rememeber that it's just one animal away from being a rats nest.
