M.A.E. was looking to get The Boy a laptop for Christmas. She got suckered by this outfit calling itself BlueHippo. To make a long story short, they told her she could get a laptop for $600, then sold her a $300 desktop system for $2000. She called and cancelled the order, and they started taking money out of her account anyway.
Mrs. Fetched went with her to the bank, and they’re going to formally dispute the charges to get her money back. I’ll have to see if Apple has any refurb iBooks....

Comments are welcome, and they don't have to be complimentary. I delete spam on sight, but that's pretty much it for moderation. Long off-topic rants or unconstructive flamage are also candidates for deletion but I haven’t seen any of that so far.
I have comment moderation on for posts over a week old, but that’s so I’ll see them.

I saw blue hippo on T.V I thought what a good Deal don't have to have credit. I am a single disabled mother went threw a bad divoced 5 years ago so my credit isn't so good I thought I could start building credit By going threw Blue Hippo.
ReplyDeleteSo I called them to order they said all I have to do is put 99.00 down after that it would be 41.98 a week and I have to have a checking account. They said after they take the 99.00 they would send out the shipping and terms of aggreement and they would take off 500.00.
Well almost 3 months went by and they where taking money from my bank account I never got nothing from them. So I called them and told them I haven't got anything from them and I am not going to pay for nothing that I never got from them.
I told the guy I was talking with that they broke the aggreement by not sending me the paper work out The guy said he sent the paper work out I kept telling him that I haven't gotten anything from them and I am not going to pay for nothing he got rude and said that they have over one million satisfied customur.
I said if that was true why is there bad reviews with the maryland better business bureau I told him I did reseach on the company I just wish I did it before I order The computer. I guess I am not the only victom that this company has done this to.
I went to my bank to talk to someone they said the only thing I can do since I gave them my soical sec. number and my bank information is fill out some papers and close my account and they would try and get my money back. I am so upset with all this my credit is bad anyways from my divorced what else can happen.
I just hope if there is others out there that they have done this to them I hope they report them. They need to be stop so know one else become a victim

I am sorry that you were taken. I also saw the add on the Christian Station and I thought this would be a decent way to reestablish myself. I called, the rep was talking so fast, I said wait a minute I have some questions. She paused and answered my initial questions. She explained how the program worked … all that jazz about the $99 down and weekly payments of $35. I was trying to add as she gave me the info. Again I said wait a minute - that adds up to about $2000. She yes but, you get so much. I said I needed to think about this a little more. She tried real hard to sell me on the program and when she mumble something about no refund of money paid, I said I'll call you back. My concern is will I start receiving unsolicited mail from them. I am calling the Christian Station I watch to let them knew that Blue Hippo is a rip-off and there is nothing good about them. I have since read several other horror stories and I feel real bad for those of you who have been ripped off. I also found out the computer they try to sell you is not worth $500 and there is no CD drive.Keep trying to get your refunds. I am praying for you.
ReplyDeleteYES..They are frauds. They have recently been sued by a law firm that my friend works for in California. The law firm is The Sturdevant Law Firm. Their website is www.sturdevantlaw.com. If you have been a victim of BlueHippo's lies, I would contact this law firm.
