Sage

The sage is absolutely covered with these purple blooms now. Up close, they look like tiny iris flowers, don’t they? As long as it’s blooming like this, I really can’t cut it back. Clever little beastie.

I like the lighting in this second shot. The detail, not so much.

  1. Yay, the sage is here! Nothing wrong about those photos because they capture scope of how they bloom. Though if it were me, I'd be grousing a bit about the detail in the 2nd one too, hehe. The lighting IS cool though!

You shouldn't worry about cutting it back though because the blooms don't really last that long. I'm sure you won't be wanting to roast a turkey and make sage dressing before they're done. Not so sure about a chicken though, come to think of it ..

  2. Thanks, Boran.

IVG, I think the blooms are either at peak or close to it. Roasting a chicken with sage sounds like a really good idea!

  3. Oh, sage in bloom is so pretty! Then when it's over, time for some drying. :)

  4. Yup, Sherm, that and some serious pruning. It's sprawling in a six-foot circle right now. I also have gobs of oregano.
